The Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Peace and Tolerance participates in the UNV Partnerships Forum in Bonn

The delegation of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Peace and Tolerance participated in the UNV Partnerships Forum in Bonn yesterday; the invitation of which was extended by the United Nations Volunteerism Department (UNV), with the goal to strengthen the Award’s global reputation and to showcase the interest of the Award to attend and partake in international forums and events related to tolerance and global peace.

The delegation was comprised of HE Ahmed Khalfan Al Mansouri, Secretary General of the Award, Mr. Jamal Saif Member of the Board of Trustees and Mr. Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Director of Operations at the Award.
In parallel to the forum, Secretary-General Ahmed Mansouri held a meeting with Kazumi Ikeda Larhed , Chief of Partnerships and Communications Division at United Nations Volunteers, and Shalina Miah, Chief of Partnerships Section at United Nations Volunteers to discuss ways of cooperation between the two parties.

Throughout the course of the meeting, Mansouri presented the Award’s upcoming initiatives, part of which included its participation in international forums; he also pointed out that the Award’s experience was founded on activating volunteerism functions in their activities, specifying that the Award bases its effectiveness on these types of activities and considers volunteers strategic partners; the Award further believes that volunteerism can transform the pace and nature of development as well as increase awareness and shed light on the need for everyone to volunteer some of their time and energy towards peace.
